According to Pattern Statement of Purpose
In order to form a more perfect union, to promote the essential elements of manifestation the Kingdom of God
upon this
earth,
and to provide for a visualization of the Body of Christ, According to Pattern was formed.
According To Pattern is an attempt to reflect in today’s society a semblance of what Christ prayed to the Father in John Chapter 17, “that they may be one, even as we are one!”
As it is in marriage, “the two shall become one flesh,’ ATP seeks to promote the unity of the Body though it might meet in many locations. In the Spirit of unity, there will be joint celebrations where the congregations, meeting as one, will come together. All component parts of each ministry will be joined in one purpose; to glorify, honor, and worship the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
From this union will be the fulfillment of Ephesians 4. Primarily, the ministry gifts will be evident, each functioning in the grace that Jesus assigned to each gift, the saints will be prepared, equipped, and empowered to do the work of the ministry. This, of course, will result in the Body growing up in love and being built up in every way. Because of this, ATP benefits the entire Body of Christ through presenting a biblical model of unity. 1 Corinthians 1:10 will become a reality:
“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
In his transliteration of the Pauline writings, Ben Campbell Johnson states: “as we grow towards maturity, we must not be seduced by short cuts, devices created by con men to deter us from serious growth. But as we continue to share honestly with each other, we help one another to our full potential as Christ-persons in unity with Christ, our head. As each of us stays in union and harmony with Christ, we are energized and consequently give energy to others through Christ, enabling them to their growth and giving love to the family as a whole.” (Ephesians 4:14-16) |
